The scientific team of the Children’s Surgery National Applied Research Hospital has visited an educational seminar attended by ELSEVIER, an international publisher, called Scientific publications of the international level, which was held on October 11-12 in Minsk.
During the seminar, Andrey Loktev, Candidate of Medicine, a consultant on key information solutions at Elsevier S&T in Russia and Belarus, and Galina Yakshonok, a consultant on analytical services at Elsevier S&T in Russia and Belarus, presented their reports.
Galina Yakshonok presented a report on a high-quality scientific article – recommendations to authors on publications preparation for international top-rated journals.
Creating a high-quality scientific articles for publication in foreign authoritative scientific journal indexed in Scopus is a complex, time-consuming process. The speaker described in detail all the processes and nuances of working on the preparation of a scientific article: registration in accordance with the requirements of a specific journal, scientific language, logical presentation of the material, and others.
The report on evaluation of research and basic approaches and metrics was dedicated to bibliometric publication activities research of authors, organizations, a country in general. The speaker elaborated on the mechanisms for calculating such indicators as Impact Factor, SNIP, SJR, CiteScore to assess credibility of the journals; h-index, m-index, g-index for authors, etc.
For a publication to receive the highest citation, it should meet two fundamental conditions: the choice of a top-rated scientific journal and co-authors with credible reputation in the scientific world.
