The main tasks of the Council are:

identification of the main promising scientific areas of activity of a scientific organization and tasks for their implementation;
discussion of scientific and scientific-technical projects in the scientific areas of the scientific organization;
consideration of plans, programs, methods of planned research, reports on scientific activities of a scientific organization, as well as reports of heads of structural (separate) divisions of this organization on the progress of scientific topics, interim and final reports;
determination of forms and methods of implementation of the received scientific and scientific-technical products in the field of healthcare;
consideration of issues of prospective and current training and placement of scientific personnel, reserve of senior staff, work with young specialists;
consideration of issues of scientific information, patent licensing, logistical, financial support for research, inventive and rationalization activities in a scientific organization;
consideration of proposals on the presentation of scientific achievements for exposition at exhibitions, the nomination of scientific results for state prizes of the Republic of Belarus and other types of incentives;
discussion of plans and reports on foreign business trips of employees of a scientific organization, issues of international scientific cooperation activities, assessment of their effectiveness;
discussion of monographs, textbooks and other publications proposed for publication;
consideration and approval of dissertation topics;
review of the progress of dissertation work;
resolution of other issues provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
