The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care No. 2 (Pediatric Surgery) treats children of all age groups with congenital malformations:
Atresia of the esophagus, atresia of various parts of the large and small intestines.
Congenital diaphragmatic hernia.
Gastroschisis.
Omphalocele.
Necrotic enterocolitis, as well as other emergency and planned surgical pathology.

Department structure

The department has 16 beds and consists of 3 wards. The department employs: 15 anesthesiologists, intensive care specialists, a senior nurse, 49 nurses. The department has an isolation ward for 2 intensive care units, as well as a small operating room. The department is equipped and staffed for intensive care of any level of complexity.
About 700 patients from Minsk, different regions of Belarus and other countries of the world receive high-tech specialized care at the department every year.

Department staff

The specialists of the department have extensive work experience, have passed numerous master classes and internships in European countries. Doctors constantly take part in conferences, training, work of visiting teams in other clinics, abroad, etc.

The range of services of the department

Thanks to the long-term and successful work of the team, the clinic has accumulated unique experience in conducting intensive care of any level of complexity, including:

  • conducting preoperative preparation

  • conducting complex and high-tech intensive therapy

  • providing intensive care

    after reconstructive operations to children of various age groups starting from the newborn period to 15 years

  • the use of new methods of artificial lung ventilation:

    non-invasive ventilation, oscillatory ventilation

  • cardiocirculatory arrest, selective bracheocephalic perfusion.

  • postoperative anesthesia without narcotic drugs using epidural

  • anesthesia parenteral nutrition in children with short bowel syndrome
