And of course, parents are looking for the best specialists who can be trusted with the most precious thing – the health of the child.
The surgical department provides planned specialized care to patients aged 0 to 16 years from Minsk and from 0 to 18 years from other regions of Belarus with the following surgical pathology:
  • Congenital and acquired diseases of the chest organs (lungs, esophagus, diaphragm, mediastinum).
  • Congenital and acquired diseases of the abdominal cavity (liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas, intestines).
  • Congenital malformations of the anorectal area.
  • Soft tissue tumors.
  • Hernias of the anterior abdominal wall.

Department structure

The department has 35 beds, consists of 9 wards, and is headed by Oleg Yurievich Korostelev, head of the department, a pediatric surgeon of the highest qualification category with more than 20 years of work experience.
Surgical care is provided by 6 pediatric surgeons, a pediatrician, a senior nurse, and 17 nurses.
Every year, more than 2,000 patients with surgical pathology apply for medical care, and about 1,800 operations are performed.
Medical care is provided by highly qualified pediatric surgeons and pediatricians, the department is also the training base of the Department of Pediatric Surgery of BSMU, students are trained here, trainee doctors, clinical residents and graduate students are trained.
On the basis of the department, there is a city center for dental care with advice on training in the care of intestinal stomas.

The specialists of the department have extensive work experience, have passed numerous master classes and internships in Europe and the USA. Every year we train specialists from different countries. Doctors constantly take part in conferences, training, work of visiting teams in other clinics, abroad, etc.
