Education Center
The Education Center, based at the Children’s Surgery National Applied Research Hospital (CSNRH), was established in 2017.
Training programmes are accredited by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus (special permission (license) № 02100/567, issued on grounds of Decision №962 from November 26, 2016 and Certificate of State Accreditation). The Education Center has the right to issue documents of a standard form of the Republic of Belarus.

There are two options of training at the Education Center: state-funded (for professionals of state health care institutions upon request of his organization) and paid basis (upon personal request and for non-residents).
Training period: 2 weeks (80 academic hours).
Study mode: intramural (daytime).
Training formats: a traditional “lecture-taught” format (lectures) is complemented by a “hands-on experience” format (practical training and seminars).
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING PROGRAMS
The training program aims to professional development of pediatric surgeons (high-quality surgical care for neonates).
Training tasks:
- promotion of latest data in diagnostics of congenital malformations in neonates, capacities of instrumental and laboratory exams, pre-surgical preparation and surgical treatment of neonates;
- mastering skills in new diagnostics and treatment methods of congenital malformations in neonates;
- advancing skills in clinical check-up of neonates and techniques of surgical methods in neonatal surgery.
Minimal Access Pediatric Surgery Program
The training program aims to professional development of pediatric surgeons in minimal access surgery as well as work on learning techniques coupled with practical skills in laparoscopic and thoracoscopic pediatric surgery.
Training tasks:
- promotion of latest technical achievements in minimal access surgery, experience with new medical instruments and equipment;
- development of best practices (basic skills and techniques) with various laparoscopic instruments (trocars, clamps, dissectors, scissors, needle holders, endostaplers, etc.) during dissection, cutting and stitching;
- studying of peculiarities of pre-surgical preparation and post-surgical care in minimal access surgeries;
- advancing skills in minimal access surgeries in children with congenital and acquired defects of chest and abdominal cavity.
Neonatal Cardiac Surgery Program
The training program aims to professional development of cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, pediatricians, ultrasonic medical investigation specialists, functional diagnostics specialists in neonatal cardiac surgery.
Training tasks:
- promotion of latest data in diagnostics and cardiac surgical treatment of congenital heart defects in neonates, capacities of instrumental and laboratory exams;
- studying of peculiarities of pre-surgical preparation and post-surgical care in neonates with congenital heart defects;
- consideration of methods and optimal terms for surgical correction of congenital heart defects;
- mastering skills in clinical examination of neonates, methods of surgical correction in neonatal cardiac surgery.
Congenital Heart Defects Surgery Program
The training program aims to professional development of cardiac surgeons (high-quality surgical care for patients with congenital heart defects).
Training tasks:
- studying of surgical heart anatomy and hemodynamic abnormalities characters in various congenital heart diseases;
- promotion of latest data in capacities of instrumental and laboratory exams in patients with congenital heart diseases;
- advancing skills in clinical check-up, mastering skills in new diagnostics methods;
- studying of peculiarities of pre-surgical preparation and post-surgical care for patients with congenital heart defects;· mastering skills in surgical treatment techniques as well as new methods in minimal access surgery, palliative and radical surgeries on correction of congenital heart defects in children.
Diagnostics and Treatment of Congenital Heart Diseases in Children Program
The training program aims to professional development of cardiac surgeons, practising rheumatologists, pediatric physicians, ultrasonic medical investigation specialists, functional diagnostics specialists on diagnostics, medical therapy and surgical treatment of congenital heart diseases in children.
Training tasks:
- promotion of latest data on diagnostics characters and treatment of congenital heart defects in children, capacities of instrumental and laboratory exams;
- mastering of skills in clinical check-up in children with congenital heart defects;
- studying of peculiarities of pre-surgical preparation and post-surgical care for children with congenital heart defects;
- consideration of methods and optimal terms for surgical correction of congenital heart defects;
- mastering skills in new methods of diagnostics and treatment of congenital heart diseases in children.
